Why Did You Start Your Blog MomBeach.com?

The first blog I started was MomBeach.com in 2015 because I was pregnant with my son. I was looking for a way to journal my feelings.

I didn’t get serious about my blog until 2018 because I had an extremely toxic boss. He would say horrible things that would have me crying in the bathroom or in my car. I was miserable working there but didn’t know what to do. I decided to start taking courses about blogging to improve my blog’s traffic. 

What Does Your Typical Day Look Like?

I get up at 9 am CST and then write emails. I then do a live training at 11 am CST sometimes. I also belong to some mastermind groups so will join their calls. I give instructions to my VA to work on things for the day as well.

Some days I will create online courses too. At 4 pm CST, I go get my son from school. The rest of the day is spending time with my family. Then, I go to bed at 10 pm CST.

What is One Strategy That Has Helped You Grow Your Business?

I started selling printables in a Shopify store and linked it to my blog. I earn $10k a month from my store, shop.mombeach.com.

If you aren’t selling printables and you are a blogger, you are leaving money on the table. Printables can be for any niche!

How Do You Drive Traffic?

I use Pinterest and Google SEO to drive traffic. I have a course on Pinterest called Printables Pinning Academy here to help you learn Pinterest and a course on SEO.

What Tech and Tools Do You Use?

I use Canva and PowerPoint to create my printables and mock up images.

I use Leadpages to make sales pages.

I use WordPress and ShowIt.co for my sites.

How Do You Monetize Your Blog?

I sell printables, earn affiliate income, earn money from ads, and from sponsorship companies.

What Would You Do Differently Starting Over?

I would have discovered PLR (private label rights) sooner so that I could fill my store with PLR printables.

What’s Next?

I’m writing a book about my life in the hopes of inspiring others. I grew up in poverty with a mentally-ill mother. She abused me in every way possible so my self-esteem was extremely low. I hated myself and thought no one loved me. Eventually, I overcame those negative thoughts and started living with a positive mindset.

What’s Your Best Advice to Other People Who are Trying to Pursue Their Dreams?

If you were abused or came from poverty, don’t let that define who you are. You are a beautiful and worthwhile person who has so much value to give this world. If I can overcome abuse and poverty, then so can you!

Tell Us Something About You That Very Few People Know?

I suffer from Bipolar disorder as a result of being so severely abused as a child. I take my medication every day and have few symptoms of the illness. Sometimes, I will have moody days when I can’t work. Because I have my own business, I can simply take the day off and rest my brain!
